For a sophomore level photography studio assignment, I created a zine exploring the theme of nature reclaiming manmade objects. Using a DSLR camera, I documented overlooked corners of my college town, searching for the quiet tension between decay and renewal. Later that year, I expanded this exploration in a film class, where I not only continued exploring the theme of nature reclaiming its place, but also learned the fundamentals of the film process: developing, editing, and presenting work in a new medium.

I was gifted my first DSLR camera in 8th grade and what started as experimenting with angles and light quickly grew into a lasting creative pursuit. Over the years, I’ve refined my eye and use photography to explore perspective, detail, and visual storytelling.
